$5000: Remote Birth Center

This gift purchases all of the supplies needed for a remote birth center, including a birthing bed, a postpartum bed, gowns and linens, newborn scale and warmer, lighting, heater, basic surgical supplies, sterilizer, doppler, an IV pole and other necessary equipment. This big-hearted donation provides a birthing center in a remote clinic so that outlying communities have a safe place for childbirth. This contribution initially provides enough equipment for 100 births. Births that occur in even basic institutional settings decrease both maternal and newborn mortality by 50%.
